AI Agents Built Into Your Safety Management System

Your safety data shouldn't just sit in registers. It should work for you.

SMP 365 designs and implements specialised AI agents for your organisation, connecting safety information to help people identify relationships, prepare work and review issues across separate registers.

Risk. Hazards. Incidents. Actions. Inspections. Audits.
One connected intelligence layer.

Custom-scoped for each customer. Illustrative workflows below are not a list of features included in every installation.

Cross-agent reasoning

One safety signal. Every relevant record.

Your modules don't operate independently. Neither should your AI. A customer-specific workflow can bring the relevant agents together around one issue, with evidence available for human review.

Illustrative scenario · fictional records

“Damaged handrail on northern access stairs.”

  1. Find the context

The Hazard Agent retrieves similar reports and a possible link to the Working at Height risk.

  2. Connect the evidence

Risk, Incident and Inspection Agents look for relevant controls, previous events and assurance findings.

  3. Check the follow-through

The Action Agent brings forward earlier corrective actions and their verification records.

  4. Prepare a human decision

Cortex presents the sources, possible relationships and a suggested review—not an automatic safety determination.

Example insight · not a live assessment

Suggested next step: Review the fall-prevention control with the responsible person and check the underlying evidence.

These fictional figures explain the workflow. They do not indicate a safe condition, establish causation or replace an operational assessment.

Specialist responsibilities

Meet your digital safety team.

Start with the work you need to improve. We scope the agent responsibilities, connected records and review steps with you, then design the implementation around your people and Microsoft environment.

01

Risk Intelligence Agent

Connect the risk register to what is happening in the field.

  • Identify overlapping risks and overdue reviews.
  • Relate hazards, incidents and failed inspections to controls.
  • Prepare draft risk reviews and highlight gaps in assurance evidence.

Suggested changes stay in draft until an authorised person reviews the evidence and approves the assessment.

02

Incident Investigation Agent

Prepare the evidence. Support the investigator.

  • Bring together event timelines, people, locations and related records.
  • Assist with PEEPO, ICAM and 5 Whys working papers.
  • Identify missing evidence and prepare draft findings and reports.

Evidence, inference and suggested lines of enquiry must remain distinct. AI does not establish a cause or replace a competent investigator.

03

Hazard Intelligence Agent

Recognise a recurring issue, not just a new record.

  • Find similar reports for a location, activity or control.
  • Check associated risks, inspection findings and open actions.
  • Flag possible recurrence after a previous hazard or action was closed.

Potential matches are presented with their source records so a person can confirm relevance before escalation.

04

Action Assurance Agent

Ask whether an action worked—not only whether it closed.

  • Review ageing, overdue items, extensions and verification status.
  • Connect completion evidence to the originating issue.
  • Surface subsequent events involving the same control.

A recurrence is a prompt for an effectiveness review, not proof that an action failed. Closure remains an authorised human decision.

05

Inspection & Audit Agent

Bring the assurance picture together.

  • Compare repeated findings across sites, projects and time periods.
  • Highlight missing or expired evidence for selected controls.
  • Prepare inspection summaries and draft audit evidence packs.

Coverage depends on the records, permissions and review periods agreed for your implementation.

Your workflow comes first

Design the right starting point.

Bring your priority use case, current process and available records. We will map the proposed agent, the access it needs, its approval boundaries and how the result will be tested.

Ask SMP 365

A clearer view of what needs attention.

“What should I be concerned about today?”

A conversational interface can provide an entry point into the connected agent workflow. Its purpose is to bring forward relevant records, explain why they were surfaced and help the user decide what to review next.

Questions, data coverage and escalation rules are agreed during design. Answers should expose their evidence and limitations, not imply that an AI summary is a complete safety picture.

3 areas for human review

  1. Critical control

Mobile plant separation appears in several hazards and inspection findings. Check the linked evidence and current controls.

  2. Recurring event

Reported hand injuries share task and equipment characteristics. Confirm whether a meaningful pattern exists.

  3. Assurance gap

Selected high-risk controls have no current verification recorded. Check whether the evidence is missing or the review is overdue.

Example response only. No customer records or live monitoring are shown.

Human-controlled AI

AI assists. People decide.

Safety-critical work needs clear accountability. We design the agent's permitted actions and approval gates before connecting it to controlled processes.

Agent may assist

Analyse. Connect. Prepare.

  • Retrieve authorised records and source evidence.
  • Correlate information and flag possible patterns.
  • Draft assessments, reports and suggested actions.
  • Prioritise items for human attention.

Record. Assign. Update.

  • Update a controlled record.
  • Assign an agreed corrective action.
  • Change an approved status or assessment.
  • Close an investigation after the required review.

AI can be wrong or incomplete. Permission checks, validation, auditability and competent human review remain essential. Agent recommendations do not certify compliance or determine that work is safe.

Microsoft-native architecture

Built for the Microsoft cloud.

We design around your Microsoft environment, with explicit decisions about identity, data access, processing and operational ownership. The architecture is selected for the agreed use case—not imposed as a one-size-fits-all stack.

01

SharePoint & Microsoft 365

Connect the selected SMP 365 records, documents and working experiences. Define which sources are in scope and who is allowed to see them.

02

Microsoft Entra ID

Design scoped identities and access permissions. Microsoft Foundry supports agent identity and role-based access; the implementation must configure and validate that access.

03

Azure & Microsoft Foundry

Select the agent, model, search or document-processing services needed for the workflow, subject to availability, configuration and licensing.

04

Monitoring & governance

Agree logging, review and support responsibilities. Application Insights can form part of the monitoring design where appropriate.

Data flows, processing regions, retention, service charges and customer responsibilities are documented in the solution design. Azure processing may occur outside SharePoint. Microsoft technology does not imply Microsoft endorsement of SMP 365.

Designed for your organisation

Your business. Your workflows. Built with Azure AI.

Move from a useful idea to a scoped implementation. We define what the solution should do, what it must not do and what successful delivery looks like before the build begins.

  1. 01

    Discover & scope

Map the use case, records, users, approvals and success criteria. Agree the proposed scope and quote.

  2. 02

    Design & build

Configure the agreed architecture, data connections, agent responsibilities and human review workflow.

  3. 03

    Validate & hand over

Test with representative examples and authorised users. Confirm responsibilities, guidance and the agreed support arrangements.

Start with a 50% deposit.

Projects commence after approval of the scope and quote. Remaining payment milestones, Microsoft/Azure costs and ongoing support are set out in your proposal.

Discuss your AI project
Before you begin

Clear scope. Clear expectations.

Are these agents already included in every SMP 365 installation?

No. This is a custom design and implementation service. We agree which agents, data sources, integrations and approval workflows are appropriate for your organisation. The examples on this page illustrate potential workflows, not a standard feature entitlement.

Can an agent approve an assessment or close an investigation?

Our proposed safety-agent design keeps consequential decisions with authorised people. Agents can retrieve information, identify possible relationships and prepare drafts. Controlled updates, assignments, status changes and closures require the approvals agreed in your workflow.

Where will our data be processed?

Your tenant. Your data.

How does the 50% deposit work?

Projects commence with a 50% deposit after approval of the scope and quote. Remaining payment milestones, Microsoft or Azure charges and any ongoing support are set out in your proposal. No payment is collected on this page.

Can we start with one workflow?

Yes. A focused first implementation can establish the data connections, review process and success criteria before extending to more agents. Bring a practical example of the safety work you want to improve to the scoping conversation.
